Director, Product Management, Google
Jim Marggraff is leading the evolution in human-computer interactions toward a more fluid, natural interface. His latest company, Eyefluence, was acquired in 2016 by Google and was built to envision a future in which we navigate the digital world primarily through sight, the same way we do the natural world. An interface based in "the language of looking" will allow us to be more efficient, create more immersive story experiences, and engage with one another more deeply.
Marggraff has dedicated his career to developing innovative technologies that improve learning, communication, and productivity. He has founded and cofounded several successful companies, including Livescribe (inventor of the smartpen), Explore Technologies, and StrataCom. He has held a number of executive positions at LeapFrog Enterprises, inventing the LeapPad learning system, which led to sales of over $1 billion worldwide. Jim holds more than 36 patents and applications and was Ernst & Young Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011. He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT and is listed among The Boston Globe's MIT150 inventors. Marggraff was named Father of the Year in 2004 by the National Father's Day Council and delights in inventing and launching ventures with his wife and children.
