Jonathan Wolinsky is an intellectual property lawyer, entrepreneur, and technologist in the fields of distributed computing and applied cryptography. Wolinsky developed VirtualMint™, the first Bitcoin-derivative cryptocurrency system for sovereign central banks and is Senior Managing Director & Chief Scientist of Genesis Project, the company behind OpenBlock™, the first platform to extend Bitcoin's "self-enforcement" and "trustless" environment to private blockchain innovations in an economical way.
Wolinsky has authored several respected articles and research products on the subjects of blockchain technology and distributed consensus protocols.
Wolinsky began practicing law at Dentons' Internet and Data Security practice in Washington DC. His legal expertise includes: intellectual property, data security and data breach management, open source licensing and compliance, federated identity management and consortium frameworks, digital and electronic signatures, cryptography export, technology transactions and PCI compliance.
Wolinsky received a BS from Syracuse University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Case Western Reserve University, where he was editor of the Internet Law Journal.
