As the Founder & CEO of Perks Consulting, a marketing advisement firm, Lauren helps emerging ventures implement this framework to create innovative branding techniques, align business strategies, streamline implementation processes, and transform the way teams work.
As an Entrepreneur in Residence at Columbia Business School, Lauren works intently with founders and investors to make the most of their ideas, minimize distractions, and create products and programs that are both valuable and accessible. Lauren balances stability with agility to help make operations more efficient and responsive to changing markets. She has a reputation for developing high-performing teams and achieving aggressive growth goals.
With a genuine love for coaching, she is an active mentor and teacher in the New York City tech and entrepreneurial community. She was a founding instructor at General Assembly and has also held advisory roles with Startup Weekend, ERA accelerator and WIM (woman innovate mobile).
Lauren is the author of The Community Manager’s Playbook: How to Build Brand Awareness and Customer Engagement (Apress, 2015). She also co-authored “An Entrepreneurial Approach to Corporate Innovation” in the book Smarter Innovation (Ark Group, 2014). She has been featured in US News, Mashable, Business Insider and Huffington Post and can be found speaking at conferences such as CMX, CES, Social Media Week, SXSW, and Entrepreneur Week.
Lauren’s early days as a competitive swimmer taught her that “Attitude is Everything!” This became, and still is, her personal mantra. Her continued passion for fitness informs her performance-driven approach to business and life. Her style for building community, however, was born from the values of her dynamic, loving Italian-American family.
